i got the ol tmaxx pretty tuned today but... its got a good trail of blue smoke and a good high end topspeed but the pick up leaves a little to be desired it will run fine for a bit and then all of a sudden it just shuts down. no shuddering or coughing just shuts down. i think it might have something to do with engine heat but i could be totaly wrong. im running 20% nitro

i was having that same problem with my t-maxx and it's 2.5, so i pulled my 3.3 outta my 4 tec and put it in my t-maxx, and that fixed my problem, so yea it could be ur motor. but if you upgrade to a 3.3 i recomend putting a new transmission in it, you can get a new 3.3 transmission off ebay for around 50-70 dollerz.

Does it stall at low or high speeds so is it dying just sitting there or in the middle of going does it just stall. When you take off from idling is it sluggish and slow and act to rich or does it just shoot off the line.

1. Check your fuel line you may have a small cut in it if it just all of a sudden dies.

2. Check your idle speed you may have it idling just a little to low that it will run fine when cold but when it gets hot its a little to low. (Nitro Engines Are Funny Like That)

3. Check your low speed needle you might have it to lean and its not getting enough fuel when idling once it gets hot or it might be to rich and its flooding it and it just dies but answer my questions at the top and we will go from there.

If you try any of things I said I hope it works.

Also with help in tuning all tuning is starting from the stock settings the from there on its trial and error no right way to do just take a little time to go out and get it fine tuned to your liking when I put a big block in my T-Maxx I went threw almost a gallon before I got it tuned to where it ran perfectly.

ok once it gets warmed up lean your low speed needle a little bit and richen your high speed needle about 1/4 to 1/2 turn stay closer to the 1/2 turn though but only adjust the low speed needle small turns at a time because it is pretty sensitive so just do that and we will go from there

The above suggestions are good - you should also check if your engine is clean or not - you might want to try and clear your engine to see if it helps.

There are four fairly simple steps to take when clearing your nitro engine of debris, dirt and oil residue.

1. First off, raise the idle to ¼ turn. This will help stop the engine from stalling. (The idle screw and not the low-end needle)

2. Wait until the engine temp reaches up to about 145-150 degrees.

3. Richen (turn to the left) the top end screw by a full turn.

4. Hold the carburetor wide open, continue richening (turning left) the top end until the engine comes close to stalling (you should be able to hear it cutting out). This should flush out all the nasty dirt, oil and grime that get stuck in the carburetor and engine.

Hope that helped
