ah i was runnin my jato on the street, and thought i had all the needles set right but i guess i didnt. every time i hit a straight-away and then let off the throttle,(so i can turn the car around) it idles for a few seconds and then dies. the thing is it takes about 13 pulls on the rope or so for it to fire back up again. about the 8-12 pull on the rope you can hear the engine trying to start but then it just falls flat on its face. so i was wonderin what needle do i need to adjust so it wont die when i go to whip it around after a long run. usually does it when it warms up. i tried to raise the idle screw up a bit to help it, but it seems not to have really an effect on it. idk if its an air leak or not , but i sealed up where the carb and pinch bolt are with rtv silicone and around the edges of the backplate. would really appreciate any advice on this pain in the ass problem

Yea exhaust will give you more low end or top end power depending which kind you get also buy lighter parts for it and eventually switch out and get away from the trx 3.3

Your second gear may be set too high to change. I'll post a link to some videos when I find them.

The video uses a savage x, but the concept is the same.

Hi, I had bought a Jato 3.3 in June of this year and had broken the motor in. After that I started to tune it and things went wrong. Whenever the motor would get hot, it would die and not start again. So, I went to the R/C store where I bought it and they told me that i fried the motor -_-... So I decided to give the thing a second chance and I spent 180 more dollars on a brand new motor. Just last weekend I had broken in the motor and seems to work fine. I would love to have some tips on how to tune it up and make it as good as it can be. I did follow the instruction manual, but I would love extra tips to make sure the problem doesn't happen again.

-Thx
Kevin
